State Police respond to barricaded subject in Windsor Township

A woman was transported to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation Tuesday evening following an hours long standoff with police at a house in the 100 block of Upland Court in Windsor Township.

Authorities say the incident began when the 49 year-old was at her residence causing a disturbance, at one point firing a firearm from a bedroom into a wooded area.

State Police Hamburg was contacted around 1pm and responded by assisted with removing family members from the residence.

According to State Police, Troopers subsequently established a perimeter around the residence and attempted to make contact with woman.

The State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) was activated and responded to the scene. Soon after 7pm, SERT members made entry into the residence and took the woman into custody.
