State Police seek witnesses, dash cam video, after body found on 222 in Lancaster County

Update: Authorities have identified the victim as 54-year-old Miguel Vazquez-Ruiz of Baltimore, who died of multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

Original post: U.S. 222 South, in Brecknock Township Lancaster County was closed for several hours Sunday morning following the discovery of a deceased male on the side of the highway near the Lancaster/ Berks County line.

Pennsylvania State Police Lancaster Barracks are conducting the investigating and currently seeking the public’s help with gathering information on the incident.

More specifically, investigators are looking for dash cam video or any witnesses who observed suspicious activity in the area of mile marker 48.6, between the hours of 4:00 am and 7:00 am.

Additionally, they are requesting any businesses and residences with surveillance video that captures 222 between the Turnpike exit and the Adamstown/Knauers exit, including the interchanges, to send investigators the camera footage.
