Two Reading residents were arrested on drug-related charges after a search of their apartment uncovered cocaine, fentanyl, and various drug paraphernalia. The Berks County Drug Task Force executed the search warrant on February 26, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., at on the 1st floor of a residence in the 300 block of N. 9th Street, following an investigation that began in December 2024.
The suspects, identified as Susan Rich, 46, and Autumn Yerger, 42, both residents of the searched apartment, were charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and fentanyl, possession of cocaine and fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal conspiracy.
The investigation was launched after the task force received complaints of alleged drug sales occurring within the apartment. Magisterial District Judge Kyley Scott issued the search warrant, which led to the seizure of various items connected to the alleged drug activity.
Among the items seized were a notebook containing records of monetary amounts owed for drugs, approximately 4.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, 18 bundles of suspected fentanyl, and 18 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Authorities also confiscated 21 packets of suspected crack cocaine and 15 “pop top” containers of suspected cocaine, along with unused packaging materials for fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine. In addition, two digital scales, four cellular phones, and various drug paraphernalia were recovered from the apartment.
The estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $5,000, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s office. Both suspects are currently awaiting arraignment.
Authorities emphasize that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The investigation remains ongoing.
