Two people were injured in a shooting at City Park late Monday afternoon, according to the Reading Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:26 p.m. and arrived to find an active crime scene. Shortly after, two adult victims with gunshot wounds were located at Reading Hospital. Authorities said their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Police established multiple crime scenes within the park, including one at the basketball courts, another in the courts’ parking lot, and a third further up Rose Garden Road. Yellow tape blocked off these areas as investigators worked into the evening.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.
