Wyomissing Police investigate shots fired at Wawa after fight, 1 injured

The Wyomissing Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the early hours of Sunday, October 2, 2022. The incident took place in the parking lot of Wawa located at 2005 Museum Road.

Officers were initially called to the area of Lancaster Avenue and Museum Road around 1:20am for the report of shots fired.

According to Police, a fight between a group of people began at a sport bar across the street. As it escalated, the group moved into the parking lot of the convenience store.

Investigators say they recovered several shell casing from two different guns. One shooter remained on-scene and reported being shot at, and subsequently returned fire. Police noted that the individual had a permit to carry a firearm.

Police also stated that one person later arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The parking lot was closed for several hours as police processed the crime scene and interviewed witnesses.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is on-going.
