The Cumru Township Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a recent assault incident at a local pharmacy.
According to police, on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at approximately 4:21 P.M., a 54-year-old-male was assaulted by the pictured White or Hispanic male, approximately in his 30s or 40s, average height, bald or close-cropped hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, long black shorts (ending just above the ankle), and white sneakers.
Authorities say the victim arrived at Rite-Aid, 500 E. Lancaster Avenue, Cumru Township, just before the suspect. Once inside the store, the suspect confronted the victim about a perceived insult. The suspect punched the victim several times in the face, knocking him to the ground, and continued to punch the victim several times in the face after he fell.
The suspect fled on foot towards Shillington. Police addd that the victim did not have any interaction with the suspect prior to the assault and did not know why the suspect wanted to fight him.
