A driver was killed Thursday morning after their vehicle crashed into a parked trailer along Route 222 in northern Berks County, according to Northern Berks Regional Police.
The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. in the 5600 block of SR222. Police, EMS, and fire crews responded to the scene and found a vehicle that had left the southbound lanes of Route 222 and struck the trailer portion of a parked tractor-trailer near 5672 Allentown Pike.
Authorities say the driver was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene from their injuries.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office and the Berks County Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to assist with the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police said no further information is available at this time.
