In her prepared speech, Alvarado-Rueda reflects on her family’s journey and the value of education, drawing inspiration from her parents’ experiences. Both immigrants from El Salvador and Mexico, her parents had limited access to education beyond the sixth grade. “Education is not promised everywhere in the world,” she writes. “Your worst school day is someone else’s impossible dream… Education is liberation. It’s the power to ask questions, to carve a life on your own terms—not because you have to, but because you choose to.”

The ceremony will be broadcast live on the district’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/live/IlN_RSAWVRU?si=PB3L5XLuslYZAqHW

Among the graduates are numerous students who have been recognized for academic excellence as members of the Claude W. Dundore Chapter of the National Honor Society.
