The Reading School District hit the streets this week with the “Word on the Street” campaign, a joint effort between Home and School Visitors and the District’s Communication Department to provide parents with information on the upcoming school year.
Using a truck with a speaker attached, district staff went door to door handing out Red Knight swag and blasting important back-to-school information.
The idea for the campaign came from Home and School Visitor Kirk Singleton. The Communications Department then partnered with the Home and School Visitors to launch the initiative.
The Reading School District is planning to continue the campaign, visiting different sections of the city on different days.
