Community Gathers for ‘Swamp Fest’ in Longswamp Township

For the 2nd year, families gathered in Longswamp Community Park for the annual Swamp Fest featuring Mushball, crafters, music, and kids activities.

Hosted by the Longswamp Township Parks and Recreation Committee, the event looked a little different this year due to the pandemic. All of the events were spread out in different areas of the park, and a one-way path marked in chalk was created to keep event guests socially distant.

Held as an all day event, Swamp Fest began with a Mush Ball Tournament, Scavenger Hunt, and Mini Car Show featuring classic cars and farm tractors.

The afternoon portion of Swamp Fest continued with with live music under the pavilion, a craft fair, ‘Jack’ the Mack Truck, and hot air balloon rides.

Wrapping up the event in the evening, Boys Scout Troop 575 held a flag ceremony to retire the Flag.

Fireworks were set to close the day long event. However, due to circumstances beyond Swamp Fest’s control, they were cancelled.
