Reading FilmFest organizers have decided to extend the deadline for the Five Minute FilmFEST high school competition submissions to April 15th, 2020.
“With so many students home, we wanted to offer this opportunity for them to participate in this competition and encourage their creativity. Thus far ReadingFilmFEST has received over 50 submissions from students across Berk’s County high schools and are looking forward to receiving more!” the organization state in a press release.
New important dates for the Five Minute FilmFEST:
- Film Submissions deadline: April 15th, 2020 (FREE!)
- Official Selections Announced: April 30th, 2020
- FiveMinuteFilmFEST festival: Tentative Date: May 31, 2020
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID 19 pandemic, ReadingFilmFEST will be looking at special programming with the potential of a virtual screening of the festival event now scheduled for May 31st.
Films accepted into the festival will have the opportunity to be chosen for the following awards:
- First Place Overall Winner receives $175 cash, Crystal Award, Swag bag, and ReadingFilmFEST Filmmaker-T-shirt
- First Place Overall Influencer Winner receives $175 cash, Crystal Award, Swag bag, and ReadingFilmFEST Filmmaker-T-shirt
- Second Place Overall Winner receive $75 cash and Award Certificate, Swag bag
- Second Place Overall Influencer Award $75 cash and Award Certificate, Swag bag.
- All participating students and teachers will receive StudentFest / All Access Pass to 2020 ReadingFilmFEST
While November feels quite far away, the 6th annual ReadingfilmFEST, scheduled for November 5th – 8th, is still going forward as planned.
