Reading Searching for Local Artists in Logo Design Contest

The City of Reading is challenging the public to help design a new City logo for official use on various upcoming projects.

City officials say they hope a proper City logo can intuitively highlight the City’s cultural characteristics and enhance people’s pride in the City.

The contest is only open to residents of the City, and the public will participate in surveys before a panel chooses over a winner from the most popular designs.

A judging panel will be made up of members of the City Council, City residents, and local artists who will choose the winner.

Artists may submit up to three entries, and the winner will be highlighted on the City website, recognized at a City Council meeting, and awarded a $500 prize.

“As I have mentioned before, I want to become the biggest ambassador for the City and a logo is a key component of branding that will help me promote the City” said Mayor Eddie Moran.

“I often say that we are each other’s neighbor, and with this contest, I want to include our community in participating in the process to continue building a better Reading together.”

The submission deadline for the logo design contest is Friday, November 27, 2020, at 5 PM. The rules and details are available online: readingpa.gov/content/city-reading-logo-contest in English and Spanish.
