Reading to host annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 26

Mayor Eddie Morán invites the community to celebrate the holiday season with performances, treats, and holiday cheer.

The City of Reading is set to usher in the holiday season with its annual tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 6 p.m. Mayor Eddie Morán announced details of the highly anticipated event, which will take place at the southeast corner of 5th and Penn Street in Downtown Reading.

“As we embrace the holiday season, let us gather to brighten our community with the glow of unity, warmth, and celebration,” said Mayor Morán. “This year’s tree lighting event will bring special performances that capture the spirit of the season, creating memories for us all to cherish. I invite everyone to join in as we welcome a season overflowing with joy, kindness, and the shared magic of this wonderful time of year.”

This year’s program promises festive entertainment for all ages, featuring a vocal performance by the Reading Choral Society and a special showcase from the Olivet Boys & Girls Club. Attendees can also enjoy treats provided by local organizations and small businesses.
