Rural Reverie: Ron Irons showcases evocative watercolors at Yocum Institute

The Holleran Gallery at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education is currently hosting a captivating exhibition featuring the works of Ron Irons, a Missouri-born artist whose deep connection to rural landscapes breathes life into his watercolor paintings.

Running from December 1, 2023, to January 19, 2024, the exhibition provides an intimate look into Irons’ artistic journey. Inspired by the scenic beauty of the countryside during his formative years in Pennsylvania and later in Greensboro, North Carolina, Irons’ paintings reflect a profound connection to both his past and present.

Having retired from a successful career as a Creative Director in the advertising industry in 2015, Irons transitioned into painting full time. Influenced by the timeless works of Andrew Wyeth and David Armstrong, his art navigates the delicate balance between nostalgia and contemporary experience. Viewers at the Holleran Gallery are treated to a visual narrative that resonates with the simplicity and soulfulness inherent in rural living.

The Holleran Gallery welcomes art enthusiasts and the community at large during its regular hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm, and closed on Sundays. Ron Irons’ watercolor masterpieces not only showcase his artistic prowess but also invite visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of rural landscapes that have left an indelible mark on the artist’s soul.

For those seeking a meaningful connection with the art and culture of the region, the Yocum Institute for Arts Education serves as the perfect venue. Located at 3000 Penn Ave, West Lawn, PA 19609, the institute remains committed to enriching the community through arts education, creative performances, and innovative programs.
