Fall 5k ‘Lace Up Power On!’ celebrates the Girls on the Run community

Girls on the Run Berks is back at the Penn State Berks campus for the Lace Up Power On! Fall 5K celebration. Community members, families and friends are invited to join in the fun with Fall GOTR and Heart & Sole teams on Saturday, November 13. The “Lace Up Power On!” theme celebrates the Girls on the Run community and their resilience over the past year.

“We are so excited to celebrate our fall season with an in-person 5K! There is so much joy in seeing the girls’ confidence as they are surrounded by their team, coaches, family and friends!” exclaims GOTR Berks Board Chair and 5K Committee Co-Chair, Kristin Kohler.

“Throughout the eight-week program, the girls and coaches work together to build confidence, character and connections,” says GOTR Berks Board member and 5K Committee Co-Chair, Jessica Bezler. “Their season culminates with the 5k and allows them the opportunity to cross the finish line with the support and cheers from their teammates, family and GOTR supporters.”

Executive Director Kirsten Haas agrees. “At Girls on the Run Berks, we say ‘The Finish Line is just the Beginning’. For our girls, the 5K is not a race but rather a celebration of their accomplishment and limitless potential.”

Registration for the event is open now at Lace Up Power On! GOTR Berks 5K Fall 2021. To register or volunteer, visit gotrberks.org/5K
