Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm House Fire on Cotton Street in Reading

Firefighters battled a two-alarm house fire in Reading Wednesday just before midnight. The fire broke out around 11:55pm on the 1200 block of Cotton Street.

Reading Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames at the scene and immediately struck a second alarm, calling in Firefighters from Exeter Township.

Initial reports indicated several people were possibly trapped inside. However, after an extensive search, Firefighters determined everyone got out safely.

Multiple dogs were removed from the property. At this time it is unknown how many and there condition.

There is no word on any injuries or what caused the fire.
