Friends of Exeter Police and Wyomissing Optometric Center have teamed up to introduce a unique initiative aimed at strengthening community bonds and fostering positive relationships between law enforcement officers and residents.
The Exeter Officers Trading Cards initiative is a creative endeavor designed to engage children in the community while promoting positive interactions with local law enforcement. Each trading card features a photo and brief biography of an Exeter Township police officer, allowing children to collect and learn about the officers who serve their community.
On Friday, February 9, 2024, Dr. Glenn Corbin, President of Wyomissing Optometric Center, and Bob Hoffman, co-founder of Friends of Exeter Police, presented the trading cards to Exeter Township Police Chief Matthew Harley and other Exeter Township officers during a special ceremony. The presentation highlighted the collaborative effort between the two organizations and underscored the importance of community partnerships in enhancing public safety and building trust between law enforcement and residents.
“We are thrilled to partner with Wyomissing Optometric Center in launching the Exeter Officers Trading Cards initiative,” said Bob Hoffman, co-founder of Friends of Exeter Police. “These trading cards serve as a fun and educational way for children to connect with our local police officers and learn about the important work they do to keep our community safe.”
Dr. Glenn Corbin, President of Wyomissing Optometric Center, added, “As a community-focused organization, we are proud to support initiatives that promote positive relationships between law enforcement and the community. The Exeter Officers Trading Cards initiative is a wonderful opportunity to engage children and build trust with our local police officers.”
The Exeter Officers Trading Cards will be distributed to children at schools, community events, and outreach programs, providing them with a tangible connection to the officers who serve and protect their community.
Anyone interested in distributing the trading cards can contact 610-779-1490 or speak with any Exeter Officer to obtain the cards.
