The project was a part of the Bronze award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can achieve.

Scouts who receive the award learn important leadership skills, discover new passions, and watch how seemingly small actions make a big difference.

Natalia Zaharia and Kara Moore, C.E. Cole Intermediate School, learned to sew and spent 20 hours designing and manufacturing over 75 masks.

“It’s been a lot of fun” said Zaharia as she delivered a set of masks to the Muhlenberg Police Department.

The pair delivered the masks to officers at the Laureldale Police Department, Muhlenberg Police Department, in addition to American Dental Solutions, and Berks Pediatrics.

Moore added, “It makes me feel happy because I actually accomplished something and I was allowed to help somebody.”
