Governor Mifflin HS Closes for ‘deep cleaning’ after COVID-19 Case

In a message to parents and staff Tuesday evening, Governor Mifflin School District officials announced the closure of the High School following a COVID-19 case. The school will be closed for the remainder of the week.

The specific circumstances were not provided. However, the district is proactively closing the High School for a deep cleaning of the building as a precautionary measure.

According to district officials, the building will reopen and resume a hybrid schedule on Monday, September 28.

All high school athletics practices, competitions, including extracurricular activities have also been suspended during the building closure.

“We were made aware of this case late this afternoon so we are working through the contact tracing process at this time and we will provide additional information as we work through that process” reads a statement from the district.

The district also notes that all other school buildings will remain open and Middle School extracurriculars will continue.
