‘Help a girl out’ February drive benefiting women and girls

A month-long collaboration between three local organizations is underway to collect feminine products and diapers for The Children’s Home of Reading, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, Opportunity House, and middle-school girls attendees of Young Women’s Summit.

A recent study conducted by Always revealed that, since the COVID-19 pandemic, over 1 in 3 young people feel less confident because they’ve missed after school activities, and nearly 1 out of 3 parents are worried about their ongoing ability to afford period products – an issue known as period poverty.

During the month of February, MG Architects and drive co-sponsors, Be Mine Boutique, of West Reading, and The Junior League of Reading, located in Wyomissing, will collect much-needed feminine products and diapers for the Children’s Home of Reading, Olivet Boys and Girls Club, Opportunity House, and middle-school girls attendees of the Junior League’s Annual Young Women’s Summit.

Several organizations are holding private drives within their company, including the Council on Chemical Abuse, the City of Reading (City Hall), and New Era Technology.

You can “Help A Girl Out” this February by donating feminine products and diapers throughout the month of February to help support the women and girls at the following drop off locations, or contact the organizers for more locations.
