Humane Pennsylvania has launched its newest service offering – affordable and accessible pet boarding services at Spike & Tilly’s Pet Resort in Berks and Lancaster Counties.
As Pennsylvania’s first and only charitable boarding facility, Spike & Tilly’s Pet Resort welcomes all kinds of companion animals and pets including exotics, pets with special care needs, pets requiring emergency boarding, and police K-9 officers or other animals with special handling requirements.
Humane Pennsylvania CEO, Karel Minor said, “Like our veterinary services, our boarding services are affordable and accessible, and we offer flexible options for the most underserved populations like police officers or adopters needing to travel, families displaced by fire, caretakers who are admitted to the hospital with a heart attack, or those trying to flee domestic violence. These services are needed and they make a difference.”
Services include dog day boarding, starting at $23 a day; dog overnight boarding, starting at $30 a night; cat day boarding, starting at $12 a day; cat overnight boarding, starting at $15 a night; and critter overnight boarding, starting at $8 a night. Discount options are available for pet caretakers facing economic challenges or hardship.
Facilities feature large two-room suites and outdoor fenced-in yards for dogs to enjoy daily exercise, potty breaks, and enrichment activities. Cats are pampered with spacious, three-room accommodations and daily individual playtime and enrichment. Caretakers may bring their pet’s favorite food, treats, toys, and blankets from home, or it can all be provided for a small fee. Other fun extras and add-on services include extra walks, cuddle time, a bath and blowout, and daily photo updates.
