KidsPeace’s Berks campus receives $1 Million in PA state grant funding

KidsPeace has received $1 million in Pennsylvania state grants for improvements to its campus in Temple, Berks County.

The funding is part of the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). It will be used for needed facility improvements at the Berks Campus, according to KidsPeace President and CEO Michael Slack, who thanked State Senator Judy Schwank and State Representative Mark Rozzi for their leadership in securing the funding.

“Senator Schwank and Representative Rozzi took the time to tour the Temple facility and see for themselves how this funding can advance our programming there, and we thank them for supporting our grant application,” he said.

Slack said the grant will allow KidsPeace to upgrade the building’s HVAC system, make needed repairs to the roof and to the external sidewalk and pavement areas, and complete various other renovations tied to improving the health and safety of those working in the facility and participating in programming there.

“Our Berks Campus associates are making a difference in the lives of local children every day, and with this RACP grant support we will be able to provide a therapeutic environment that is worthy of their efforts,” he added.
