Len Carmen retires from WEEU after 24 years reporting local news

Long-time morning news anchor Leonard C. Clupp, known as Len Carmen on-air, has retired from broadcasting. Twilight Broadcasting Inc. and WEEU celebrated the occasion Friday during “Feedback” with Bill Saunder.

A career spanning forty plus years, Len began broadcasting playing country music at a small station in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. He then moved on to several other stations including Lehighton, Lewistown in Mifflin County and even spent some time in Reading at WTVE-TV, where he worked mostly behind the scenes before a brief stint as sports anchor on the evening news.

Len has spent the last twenty-four and a half years reporting on local news, covering events, and interviewing community leaders on WEEU during the busy morning drive time slot.

When asked about his future he stated “I hope to spend more time outdoors and volunteering, as long as I don’t have to get up at 4 o’clock in the morning to do it. The only time I plan to get up that early is to go fishing.”
