Maddie’s Miracles, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with severe disabilities and their families, will host Butterflies and Brews Festival September 7th at Maiers Grove Park, 106 Grove Road in Blandon, to raise crucial funds to support local families caring for children with severe disabilities.
Maddie’s Miracles was founded in honor of Madeline Nordhoy, who was born with the rare genetic disorder Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome. Over the past 27 years, Maddie’s family has faced the significant challenges of caring for a child with severe disabilities. From navigating the complexities of medical care to ensuring a safe and functional home environment, the Nordhoy family understands firsthand the demands placed on families like theirs.
“Caring for Maddie has taught us the value of support and community,” said Erik Nordhoy, Founder of Maddie’s Miracles. “We created Maddie’s Miracles to provide other families with the resources and assistance they need to give their children the best possible quality of life.”
Maddie’s Miracles is committed to making a real impact. Through home modifications, donations of essential medical equipment, and providing support services, the organization empowers individuals with disabilities and their families to lead fuller, more independent lives. By addressing both immediate needs and long-term challenges, Maddie’s Miracles strives to be a beacon of hope and practical assistance for families in the local community.
The Butterflies and Brews Festival is a celebration with a purpose. Attendees will enjoy an array of activities, including: Sips from local breweries, wineries, and distilleries. Delicious offerings from food trucks. Unique craft vendors to shop live music and entertainment. Flash butterfly tattoos. Axe throwing. Bounce house and petting zoo for family fun. Silent auction and raffle with exciting prizes.
The festival promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family, with all proceeds going directly to supporting families caring for children with severe disabilities.
“We’re incredibly excited about the Butterflies and Brews Festival,” said Erik. “It’s an opportunity for the community to come together, have a great time, and support a cause that is close to our hearts. Every dollar raised will go toward helping the next few families in need.”
