Man found unresponsive in Wyomissing swimming pool, investigation underway

Wyomissing police and the Berks County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the death of a man who was found unresponsive in a swimming pool Tuesday evening.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, officers with the Wyomissing Police Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Cleveland Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 18 after a neighbor reported finding an unresponsive man in a swimming pool on the property.

Detectives from the Wyomissing Police Department and Berks County District Attorney’s Office are jointly investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities described the incident as a drowning but did not release the identity of the man or provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Wyomissing police said additional information will be released as it becomes available and appropriate.
