Several Memorial Day events were held across Berks County Monday to honor those who have given their lives for the country. In Reading, dozens gathered at City Park in a ceremony that included a wreath placing and playing of taps.

The Borough of Wyomissing Parks and Recreation Department held their Memorial Day ceremony at Wyomissing Hills Memorial Park. Residents, community leaders, and Borough officials gathered together to honor the great men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Leesport Area Historical Society held their Memorial Day ceremony at the Walter A. Pearson Memorial near the Leesport playground.
