Nemesis Fitness Glow 5K and Block Party to light up downtown Reading Saturday

Downtown Reading is set to come alive with lights, music, fitness, and community spirit on Saturday, October 21, as Nemesis Fitness hosts its Glow 5k, their last free community fun run for the 2023 season.

The Nemesis Fitness Glow 5K is part of a series of free community runs that occur each year by the running group. It is a widely popular event, and the City’s Downtown Reading Division has decided to join in on the fun by hosting a collaborative glow block party event.

The event promises a night of family-friendly entertainment, music, fun glow activities, delicious food, and beverages from local businesses, making it an event for all ages.

“The community running events we host hold a special place in our hearts. We started this journey in 2020 to make running accessible to all, with a focus on fun over competition. These events aren’t about winning, but about the shared joy of running,” stated race founder Paul Redford.

“We get people of all ages and walks of life to get up and get moving as a community. Through this passion, we’ve found not just running partners but lifelong friends. Running transcends the miles and forges connections that last a lifetime. There’s no greater feeling than crossing a finish line with someone you love or care for and we provide a platform for everyone to experience it,” he said.
