The Adalyn Rose Foundation’s 2026 Empty Stroller Run & Walk campaign brought together more than 2,400 participants and raised over $215,000 to support families grieving the loss of a baby or young child.
During the month of October, families, friends, and supporters participated in events in Reading, Lewistown, Scranton and Souderton, Pennsylvania, as well as virtually throughout the Country. At every event, participants honored children who are deeply loved and remembered while helping make compassionate care available to other grieving families.
The Reading event held at Jim Dietrich Park on October 25 brought the community together for a 5K with chip timing, a remembrance walk, special activities, and opportunities to connect. Along with the satellite events and virtual participation, the Empty Stroller Run & Walk created space for families to speak their children’s names, share their stories and find support.
Funds raised help sustain the foundation’s comprehensive and continuous care, including financial assistance with funeral and cremation costs, hospital Remembrance Carts, Angel Closets and health care training, therapy and support groups, peer connections and ongoing remembrance events and programs.
During the Reading event, the foundation also announced it’s newest program, Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way. This baby and child loss grief retreat program was initiated by Jake and Christine Sprague. They have been part of the Adalyn Rose Foundation family since their son, Will, died in 2020. The evolving program will include retreats for couples, mothers and fathers, creating opportunities for parents to connect, heal and rest in a supportive space with others who understand the loss of a child.
The inaugural retreat, designed for couples, will take place in November 2026 at the beautiful Overlook Retreat in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. Future retreats will continue to expand the program’s offerings for grieving parents.
