Barley Snyder has announced that the YMCA of Reading and Berks County has elected Partner Troy Rider as Chairman of the board of directors.
The YMCA of Reading and Berks County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and focusing on the youth community by providing health resources with five branches located in Adamstown, Mifflin, Reading, Sinking Spring and the Tri Valley.
Rider has been active with the YMCA of Reading and Berks County for over twelve years as a volunteer and board member. He served as Vice Chair of the board between 2020-2022. In addition to Chairman of the board, he serves as a committee member for the March Madness Event, a polar plunge event held in March to benefit the YMCA.
“I am excited to serve as Chairman of the board for the YMCA of Reading and Berks County,” said Rider. “I’ve seen the positive impacts the YMCA makes on communities in the area which makes me look forward to enhancing its programs for local families.”
Rider has been an attorney with Barley Snyder since 2007, concentrating on business, finance, real estate, and food & agribusiness law. In his practice, he counsels clients on all facets of business transactions, including succession planning for closely held businesses and the structuring, negotiation and closing of commercial and financial transactions as well as proper corporate governance. He is a member of the firm’s management committee and serves as Marketing Partner. A Duquesne University School of Law graduate, Rider is also a committee member for the United Way of Berks County on its Focus Area Panel.
