Berks Encore has announced that LuAnn Oatman, President and CEO of Berks Encore has been elected as the new Vice Chairman of the Meals on Wheels America board of directors; a national organization dedicated to addressing senior hunger and isolation. Oatman has been serving Meals on Wheels America on their Board of Directors since 2020 and recently served as Chairperson of the Meals on Wheels Pennsylvania board.
As President and CEO for Berks Encore for the past 18 years, the local non-profit agency providing Meals on Wheels to Berks County residents, Oatman leads a dedicated and compassionate team of staff and volunteers to provide services that promote aging with confidence in Berks County. Berks Encore also offers health and wellness activities and education, grocery shopping programs and Medicare enrollment support.
Under Oatman’s visionary leadership, Care+ launched in 2020 to provide a full-service caregiver support program helping families navigate available services to help loved ones age in their own homes.
Berks Encore is the Berks County provider for home delivery of Meals on Wheels. Meals are delivered from six senior community Wellness and Activity centers located in Douglassville, Fleetwood, Reading, Shillington, Strausstown, and Wernersville.
