Colón will lead development strategies for the Centro Hispano, an organization that for over 50 years supports and enhances the acculturation of the growing Latino community in Berks County and Greater Reading through collaborative initiatives designed to enable individuals and families to improve their quality of life and the quality of life in our community.
Colón joins Centro Hispano from the law firm of Kozloff Stoudt, where he held the role of Firm Administrator. Colón who is a Reading native, has extensive local senior management experience in the private and nonprofit sectors throughout his professional career that spans 30 years.
“Marcelino is a seasoned senior executive with a strong history of serving our community and leading community and economic development efforts,” Centro Hispano President & CEO Michael Toledo stated.
“The pandemic over the last 15 months has been devastating across all sectors, especially the non-profit sector. Our inability to fundraise to support our operations and programs over the last 15 months while the Centro Hispano led vaccination and food insecurity efforts to support our most vulnerable has taken its toll on our development efforts. Philanthropic support is integral for our organization to achieve our mission of service and advocacy and we are thrilled to have Marcelino’s vision, passion, and experience to help us take our impact in the community to new heights through our Economic Development and Fundraising efforts.”
Colón was born and raised in Reading, PA and is a graduate of Reading Senior High School. He graduated from Albright College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Colón is a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.
