The IM ABLE Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the disability community, has announced the promotion of Alex A. Pilkington from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer.
Pilkington came aboard the IM ABLE Foundation in July 2021, taking charge of all business operations and assisting in the transition of CEO responsibilities from founder Chris Kaag. Kaag has since transitioned into the role of Chief Motivational Officer at IM ABLE, leveraging his expertise to further the foundation’s mission while also guiding its strategic vision to become a leading force in the disabled fitness community.
“We are very excited to have Pilkington join our team as CEO,” said Kaag, Founder of the IM ABLE Foundation and US Marine veteran. “Alex has been with us for over two and half years preparing for this moment and will assume the role of CEO to steer the organization forward. Our committed board of directors are in full support of this transition and will continue to advise and oversee what comes next. We feel confident that he will provide the company with the means to reach our strategic goals and enable the organization to reach more people in the disabled and veteran communities, and we are excited that someone of his caliber is leading these initiatives.”
Pilkington is a US Army veteran and proven leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of transforming business enterprises in diverse environments. He brings the experience of more than 30 years of progressive leadership with experience in roles ranging from global Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, and as a serial entrepreneur.
Prior to joining IM ABLE, Pilkington held numerous executive and operational leadership roles, most recently as a Chief Strategy Officer for a start-up where he led operations, strategy, and growth. He earned his master’s degree in Management, Strategy & Leadership from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business.
