IM ABLE Foundation proudly announces the receipt of a generous $10,000 grant from the esteemed PPL Foundation, marking a significant boost to its transformative programs. The funds will bolster the IM FIT and Operation Lead from the Front (OLFTF) initiatives, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowerment within diverse communities.
IM FIT stands as a beacon of empowerment, offering adaptive group fitness classes tailored to individuals facing physical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges. Through IM FIT, participants—dubbed IM FITTERs—engage in comprehensive functional fitness training, honing their strength and endurance through a dynamic blend of strength and cardio exercises. This program not only introduces participants to the fundamentals of fitness but also cultivates a sense of belonging within the vibrant IM ABLE community.
Operation Lead from the Front emerges as a testament to IM ABLE’s unwavering support for military veterans, providing them with avenues for camaraderie and community service through adaptive sports. Comprising two pivotal programs—GRIT and Battle Buddies—OLFTF extends a lifeline to those who have served their country.
Under the leadership of IM ABLE Founder, Chris Kaag, GRIT invites veterans and civilians alike to partake in functional fitness classes and a plethora of recreational activities, from kayaking to hiking. Embracing individuals of all fitness levels, GRIT fosters a supportive environment where participants thrive physically and mentally.
Meanwhile, the Battle Buddies program pioneers a unique bond between veterans and individuals with disabilities within the community. Over the course of a transformative three- month journey, pairs embark on a collaborative odyssey, transcending barriers and redefining possibilities through shared experiences. This commitment encompasses weekly one-on-one activities, special events, community engagement, and group training sessions, fortifying bonds that endure beyond the program’s conclusion.
IM ABLE Foundation proudly stands alongside 29 other organizations as a recipient of the prestigious Powering Equity Grant bestowed by the PPL Foundation.
