To say thank you to local front line works, United Community Services provided free spaghetti lunches the community Friday afternoon. Setup as a drive-thru in front of their building on Front Street in Reading, the organization served over 130 meals.
United Community Services and Youth Build provides youth education services to residents ages 17-24 who are studying for their GED or looking for employment.
“We just wanted to find another way to give back to the community and show our support for front line workers” said Alneasa Jordan, Employment Specialist for United Community Services.
In planning the lunch, Jordan said they reached out several local businesses for donations. “ATV Bakery and Redner’s were generous enough make donations for the event.”
“We just want to make sure front line workers feel appreciated” said Jordan.
