Womelsdorf Community Library appoints Emily Ulmer as new Library Director

The Womelsdorf Community Library has officially announced the appointment of Emily Ulmer as its newest Library Director. Ulmer brings experience to the library both in library administration and as an educator.

“We are very pleased to have Emily join our team,” said Julian Marshall, co-president of the Womelsdorf Library Board of Trustees. “Emily brings a true passion for literature and community engagement. We believe that, under Emily’s direction, our library will thrive, further serving the patrons of Womelsdorf and the surrounding area.”

Ulmer was born in the Reading area. She is a graduate in English Literature from both Durham University (Durham, UK) and the University of Glasgow (Glasgow, UK). Previously she was Assistant Director of the West Lawn-Wyomissing Hills Library and a middle school teacher in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Bruce Edwards, President of the Womelsdorf Borough Council, added, “Emily’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our library. We are confident that her leadership will result in the library’s continued growth and success.”

WCL will host a public Welcome event for Ulmer in the Womelsdorf Community Library Board Room on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The library is located at 203 W. High Street in Womelsdorf.

The Womelsdorf Community Library, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides library services to the Borough of Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area of Berks County. As part of the Berks County Public Library System, the library supports life-long learning for our patrons, including programs for children of all ages.
