Olivet summer camp youth take part in ‘Take a Friend Fishing’ with volunteers from Carpenter Technologies

Up to 100 Olivet Boys & Girls club summer camp members participated in a day of events featuring fishing, lunch, arts & crafts, and other fun activities led by over 20 individual volunteers from Carpenter Technologies on Friday, July 22, 2022.

The event has a 30-year tradition, typically held on an annual basis during summer camp. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the last year an event was held was in 2019.

Olivet Boys & Girls Club hosts the “Take a Friend Fishing” at the organizations Blue Mountain Camp location in Hamburg.

“Over the past two years, the pandemic has significantly limited our ability to offer various programs, services, and experiences for our club members during summer camp. This year, we are thrilled to welcome back the “Take a Friend Fishing” event at Blue Mountain Camp. Thanks to the support and generosity of Carpenter Technologies and dedicated volunteers, our club members will have an unforgettable day of fun” said Chris Winters, President and CEO, Olivet Boys & Girls Club.

Rich Tinsman, Director-Global Advanced Engineering, Carpenter Technology added, “Both of our organizations have been in this county for decades as partners to strengthen our community. It is a blessing that we can reconnect those ties after these last couple of difficult years. As we connect, we will share the past memories and now create new ones.”
