Outreach Group in Reading Hands Out 400 Masks to Community

To help residents in Reading slow the spread of COVID-19, South of Penn Task Force hosted a mask giveaway Wednesday morning on South 7th street. Over 400 masks were provided by the organization to the public free of charge.

The South Of Penn Task force is a group working to improve quality of life for residents on the south side of the city.

The group distributed all of the bags within the first 30 mins of opening. Bags included three re-usable cotton masks, toys left over from their annual Easter event, a t-shirt, and US Census information materials.

In addition, recipients were asked to complete an anonymous online survey. Looking to gather community data, questions related to housing status, if residents were able to pay rent, food security, and health concerns.
