The enforcement campaign comes as summer temperatures rise and the FIFA World Cup 2026 concludes, a period when officials expect more people to be traveling and attending celebrations.

Police said officers will conduct both roving DUI patrols and sobriety checkpoints on roadways throughout Berks County. The increased enforcement is expected to continue throughout the summer months.

Officials said police will be watching for drivers impaired by alcohol as well as drugs, with the goal of improving roadway safety.
