Berks County Elections Director Ronald Rutkowski will be resigning from county employment after more than 16 years of service with the County Controller’s Office and the Office of Election Services. Rutkowski’s last day as Elections Director will be Friday, Oct. 8.
The County of Berks does not typically announce separations, but county leaders wanted to assure the public that this change will not affect the operation or legitimacy of the upcoming general election.
Officials say the County of Berks remains staunchly committed to a fair and open election process and is confident in the staff in the Office of Election Services.
“The County of Berks thanks Mr. Rutkowksi for his service and wishes him well as he pursues a new opportunity in the private sector” reads a statement from the County.
