R.M. Palmer employees gather to mourn lives lost in explosion

R.M. Palmer employees gathered at the American Diner in West Reading Sunday late-afternoon for a fundraiser to benefit the West Reading Fire Company and Police Department. Staff at the diner say 100% of the days profit will be donated.

Later, the group walked down Penn Avenue to the scene on South 2nd Avenue as crews continued recovery efforts.

After a brief moment, the group made their way to the overlook off of Reading Ave., where they shared stories between each other and prayed for the victims and their families.

Long time R.M. Palmer employee and group leader Sylvia Skinner says a community candlelight vigil will eventually take place in front of the building when first responders open the street.
