Original post: The City of Reading has announced the next phase of the ongoing demolition at 431 Penn Street, with work progressing to ground level as conditions allow.
According to city officials, contractors will continue evaluating the structure as demolition moves forward, providing updates as necessary.
To ensure public safety, the westbound lane of Penn Street between 4th and 5th Streets will remain closed until further notice. Cranes will also stay on-site, and existing detours will remain in place.
