The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has posted an updated list of recent Retail Food Inspection Reports for restaurants and food handlers in Berks County. Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 4/23/2026, Little Sicily Italian Restaurant, located at 100 Love Rd, Reading, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: The light intensity in the food preparation area by the walk-in cooler is not at least 50 foot candles. Light is still burned out.

On 4/25/2026, Goodwill Beneficial Association, located at 100 Madison Ave, Reading, PA 19605, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed peeling paint on ceiling in dry storage room. Observed moisture build-up in walk in refrigerator related to surface material.
On 4/25/2026, Fraternal Order of Police – Lodge #71, located at 776 Mount Laurel Ave, Temple, PA 19560, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility’s mechanical warewashing machine is not working. The food facility is not using an approved sanitizer in warewash sink process.

Pork was reheated to 165°F and put in hot hold station instead of the cooler to maintain temperature. Corrected.
On 4/27/2026, Wingstop #2460, located at 532 E Lancaster Ave, Shillington, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Ice shoot on the self-serve soda machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected.
On 4/27/2026, Turkey Hill Minit Market #295, located at 2600 Conrad Weiser Pkwy, Womelsdorf, PA 19567, was inspected and found with the following violation: Cappuccino powders (3) in the beverage area, are not labeled with the common name of the food. Corrected.
On 4/27/2026, The Inn at Centre Park 377944, located at 730 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601, was inspected and found with the following violation: Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the refrigerator, is not being date marked.
On 4/27/2026, Skateaway, located at 2275 Lancaster Ave, Reading, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed a buildup of apparent mold on the interior nonfood contact surfaces of the ice machine. Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the refrigerator, is not being date marked. Corrected. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Test strips were observed damaged and in need of replacement.
On 4/27/2026, Onvo Travel Plaza-Bethel, located at 8602 Lancaster Ave, Bethel, PA 19507, was inspected and found with the following violation: No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the men’s restroom area to remind food employees to wash their hands. This is a repeat violation and needs to be corrected.
On 4/27/2026, Moe’s Southwest Grill #1913, located at 1070 Berkshire Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed dirt and old food debris on the floor under equipment throughout the facility (front, back, and walk-in cooler). Mop sink surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil. Floor tiles under the fryer are missing/damaged and grease is accumulating in this area. The light intensity in the back food preparation area is not sufficient. Three light fixtures are not working. FRP panel on the wall at the mop sink is not properly sealed and is pulling away from the wall.

On 4/27/2026, Governor Mifflin SD Middle School, located at 130 E Lancaster Ave, Shillington, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed a mold like build up on the wall by the ware wash machine and the nozzle of the prewash spray nozzle. Corrected. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed leaking at the handwash sink by the walk-in freezer. The faucet has visible lime build up and is leaking at the eye wash connection.
On 4/27/2026, Governor Mifflin SD Cumru Elem., located at 601 Philadelphia Ave, Shillington, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Spray nozzle has electric tape around the handle a material unapproved for food equipment. Corrected. Food facility is not removing dead or trapped pests from control devices frequently, as evidenced by observed old mouse in the corner of the dry storage behind the door. Corrected. Food facility inspection indicates evidence of rodent activity in the dry storage areas. Facility has a pest control service. Observed apparent rodent droppings in the corners of the dry storage area and under shelving. Corrected.
