Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On May 29, 2025, The Henry P. Robeson House Beef & Ale, located at 124 E Penn Ave, Robesonia, PA 19551, was inspected and found with the following violations: Back door located in the kitchen area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
On May 29, 2025, Pub at St. Mark’s Square, located at 200 W First St Ste 5, Birdsboro, PA 19508, was inspected and found with the following violations: Unisex restrooms are not provided with a covered waste receptacle. Facility does not have a method to verify the final rinse temperature of the hot water sanitizing glass washer at the bar.
On May 29, 2025, Oley Inn on Main, located at 401 Main St, Oley, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: There is an accumulation of grease and old food debris on the floor the fryers and one of the grills in the kitchen. Thermometer for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in the 2-door bakery refrigeration unit. Facility does not have a method to verify the final rinse temperature for the hot water sanitizing dishwasher. Manager ordered a dishwasher thermometer during this inspection. The interior of the ice machine at the bar, a food contact surface, was observed to have residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Machine will be emptied and cleaned today.
On May 29, 2025, McDonald’s #02385, located at 3710 Penn Ave, Sinking Spring, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Observed cases of chicken nuggets in the walk-in freezer with condensation dripping onto the exterior of the boxes. Please move cases of food or put a tray on top to collect the dripping condensation. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed water leaking at the mop sink and handle was not turning it off. Three compartment sink has a hose attachment that is hanging below the flood rim of the sink and not an appropriate air gap. Nozzle of Icee machine was observed with black organic matter and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected.
On May 29, 2025, Mamas Famous Pizza Exeter, located at 35 W 47th St, Reading, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: An insect control device (fly strip) is located in the pizza prep area with potential to contaminate food or equipment. Corrected.
On May 29, 2025, Kutztown Tavern, located at 272 W Main St, Kutztown, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Back door located in the dish area of the food facility was observed open and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals. Corrected. Keep this door closed. Observed one live roach on the floor under cookline. Pest control was out last week, and service is conducted twice a month.
On May 29, 2025, Heidelberg Family Restaurant, located at 910 W Penn Ave, Robesonia, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Several food items were held at 45 °F, in the salad bar area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Corrected, moved ice to cover more of pan. Items need to be pre chilled in the walk in prior to being put on salad bar in future. Fryer basket observed with broken wires at the cookline. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 10 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. Service call was made. Mops are not being hung to air dry. Corrected.
On May 29, 2025, Gulf Station, Oley, located at 1141 Memorial Hwy, Oley, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Deflector in the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have resvidue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected.
On May 29, 2025, Boyer’s Food Market #3596, located at 200 W First St Ste 3, Birdsboro, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Observed chemicals (ice melt) being stored directly next to bags of flour on shelving in the back area. Corrected.
On May 29, 2025, Bella Roma, located at 4212 St Lawrence Ave, Reading, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Prepackaged food items offered for sale in the refrigerator near the front counter are not labeled properly with the ingredient statement. Corrected during inspection by adding a sign stating ‘Ingredients Available Upon Request’.
On May 30, 2025, Quality Baked Goods @ Kirbyville, located at 14030 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Two rubber spatulas observed chipped. Corrected. Food dispensing utensil in the ice machine was observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food and the container. Corrected.
On May 30, 2025, Kirbyville Farm Market, located at 14030 Kutztown Rd, Fleetwood, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Non-food contact surface of refrigerator gasket on the refrigerator below the panini press was not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of mold and food debris. Non-food contact surface of the deli meat and cheese case door track was not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of food debris. The handwash sink located in the ice cream area does not have water at a temperature of at least 85°F.
On May 30, 2025, KidsPeace – Berks Campus, located at 704 Hay Road-Wilson Sarig School, Temple, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Food employee observed in kitchen, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets, hats, or beard covers. Corrected on inspection.
On May 30, 2025, Cross Roads Family Restaurant, located at 4643 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: An open employee’s beverage container was observed in cook’s area, a food preparation area. Corrected on inspection. Food dispensing utensil in bulk food bins (sugar and flour) observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food. Corrected on inspection. Observed wet wiping cloths in service area, not being stored in sanitizer solution. Corrected on inspection. Food storage containers in the walk-in refrigerator were stored open with no covering. On June 2, 2025, City Girl Juice, located at 18 State Hill Rd, Wyomissing, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink in the side area. Corrected.
On June 2, 2025, Basin Street Hotel, located at 42 E Main St, Kutztown, PA, was inspected and found with the following violations: Observed a large build-up of grease on the fryers, grill, walls, and floor of the cookline area.
