Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 7/16/2026, The Valley Bar & Grill, located at 4741 Penn Ave, Reading, PA 19608, was inspected and found with the following violations: Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the two walk-in coolers, is not being date marked. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Hood # 2 intake / exhaust air duct needs to be cleaned, or filters changed as it has excessive buildup of dust and debris. Paper towel dispenser missing from the middle bar area. Please replace.

On 7/16/2026, Schmeck’s Villa, located at 4581 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606, was inspected and found with the following violation: Cutting board at the bar has a large crack and is no longer easily cleanable. Corrected. Thermometer for ensuring proper temperature of equipment is not available or readily accessible in the 2-door Beverage Air refrigeration unit in the server area. The soda gun at the bar and one of the soda nozzles at the kitchen dispenser, food contact surfaces, were observed to have residue and were not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. The slicer, a food contact surface, was observed to have dried food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected. Observed an accumulation of grease and old food debris on the floor under the fryers.

On 7/20/2026, Dunkin Donuts #355023, located at 2 Penn Ave., Robesonia, PA 19551, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility does not have available quat sanitizer test strips or quat test kit to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration. Bin of ice in the coffee prep area stored open with no covering. This container needs to be covered as ice is a ready to eat food. Interior of ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have mold and slime build up and was not clean to sight and touch. Please increase the cleaning frequency of this item to avoid build up. Food dispensing utensil in the sugar sand and sugar bins were observed stored in the food and not with handle above the top of the food and the container. Corrected. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – observed faucet leaking at the three compartment sink.
On 7/21/2026, Papa Johns #3074, located at 828B Route 100, Bechtelsville, PA 19505, was inspected and found with the following violation: The wooden shelf in the food prep area is not smooth, easily cleanable and/or resistant to pitting, cracking or scratching. Please replace the wooden shelf with a smooth and easily cleanable material. This is a repeat violation.
On 7/21/2026, Monarch Fire Company #1, located at 59 Pennsylvania Ave., Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violations: Interior of ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Observed deeply scored cutting boards not resurfaced or discarded as required. The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Food facility is using an approved non-public water system, but does not have current laboratory testing results for water potability. Observed the side of the fryer, stove and floor around the fryer to have a buildup of grease and old food.
On 7/21/2026, Manatawny Creek Winery & Brewery, located at 227 Levengood Rd., Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violation: Raw shell eggs observed stored above ready to eat foods in the refrigerator next to the oven. Corrected. Toilet rooms do not have a self-closing door.
On 7/21/2026, Dunkin Donuts #346432, located at 955 Benjamin Franklin Hwy., Suite 1, Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violations: Observed the plastic lid covering the bulk sugar bin to be cracked and broken in several areas. Floor in the front prep area is made of tile and is cracked and tiles are loose and are not a smooth, easily cleanable surface. Grout observed missing. Observed clean food equipment and/or utensils in warewash area, stored wet in a manner that does not allow for draining and/or air drying (wet nesting). Corrected. Sesame seeds in bulk storage container, in the dry storage area, is not labeled with the common name of the food. Corrected. The quaternary ammonia concentration in the sanitizing solution of the 3-bay warewash sink was 0 ppm, rather than 150-400 ppm as stated on the manufacturers use directions. Hose feeding the sanitizer is broken and not feeding sanitizer as a result. Corrected. Facility manually adding sanitizer until unit serviced. Paper towel dispenser empty at the handwash sink by the donut display area. Corrected.
On 7/21/2026, Dollar Tree #11522, located at 1205 Benjamin Franklin Hwy., Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed spilled beverage liquid on the floor in the back storage area around food stored on floor. Observed multiple foods stored directly on the floor throughout the back storage area and walk-in freezer area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required.
On 7/21/2026, China V, located at 3 Park Ln., Douglassville, PA 19518, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed the front chest freezer to be sitting on top of a cardboard, a surface that is not easily cleanable and is absorbent. Multiple foods in the Bain Marie stored open with no covering. Corrected. Food facility is reusing equipment (metal cans and cardboard containers), for food storage which is intended to be a single-service or single-use article. Corrected.
On 7/21/2026, Bally Family Diner, located at 1605 PA-100, Barto, PA 19504, was inspected and found with the following violations: The Person in Charge did not demonstrate adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this non-compliant inspection. Observed multiple food in the refrigerators, freezers, Bain Maries walk-in-coolers, and walk-in-freezer stored open with no covering. French Toast egg dip held at 65°F, in the Bain Marie in the cookline area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Carrot was held at 50°F, in the display refrigerator in the dining area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Observed the can opener in the prep area was dirty and had a large build-up of food debris on it. Observed cardboard being used on shelves throughout the facility’s storage areas. Refrigerated ready to eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 24 hours, located in the walk-in-coolers and in the refrigerators and Bain Maries in the cookline area, is not being date marked. Back doors located in the storage and downstairs storage areas of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.
On 7/22/2026, Sonic Drive-In #6882, located at 850 Crossings Blvd., Elverson, PA 19520, was inspected and found with the following violation: Multiple foods were held at 47°F, in the refrigerator by the ice cream machine area, rather than 41°F or below as required. Corrected.
On 7/22/2026, Redner’s Market #93, located at 5400 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606, was inspected and found with the following violation: Mop sink in the back area is not draining properly. Observed dirty, standing water in the sink. According to the manager, piping is damaged and the sink needs to be replaced. Employees are using an adjacent floor drain to dispose of dirty water until mop sink is repaired. There is no food stored in the immediate area of the floor drain.
On 7/22/2026, Philly Pretzel Factory (inside Walmart #1777), located at 5900 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA 19606, was inspected and found with the following violation: There is a piece of plywood covered with cardboard and tape on a table in the back room. These materials/surfaces are not cleanable. Food facility does not have available sanitizer test strips to determine appropriate sanitizer concentration.
On 7/22/2026, Pappy T’s Pub & Lounge, located at 50 Industrial Dr., Hamburg, PA 19526, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility is reusing small cups as a utensil; these are intended to be a single-service or single-use article. Corrected. Interior kick plate of ice machine was observed with pink and black mold. please increase the frequency of cleaning to avoid build up. Food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired and is no longer valid.

On 7/22/2026, Fiore Ristorante, located at 401 Main St., Shoemakersville, PA 19555, was inspected and found with the following violation: Interior ceiling and fan guards in the walk-in cooler were observed with excessive dust build up. Increase the frequency of cleaning of this area to avoid dust build up. Corrected.
On 7/22/2026, Aldi #79, located at 1010 Cedar Top Rd., Reading, PA 19607, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed the produce case drain equipment, in produce area, with an accumulation of water and apparent slime/mold on non-food contact surfaces. Observed excessive trash and old food debris on the floor of the walk-in cooler and under the produce display cases for the apples and melons.
