Shillington to host 97th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

The American Legion Reber-Moore Post 635 will continue a long-standing tradition this month with the 97th annual Shillington Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Scheduled for Monday, May 26, 2025, the event will honor the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States military.

Memorial Day, observed nationwide on the last Monday of May, commemorates the sacrifices of fallen service members. The holiday, which originated in the years following the Civil War, was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 1971. Since 1927, the Shillington American Legion Post has organized the annual parade as a way for the community to pay tribute to those who served.
