For the 72nd year, Shoemakersville will host its annual Children’s Fair and Parade to support their free Summer Park Program for local children.
The theme for this year is “It’s A Magical Place” and will include entertainment from the Amazing Magi as well as local talent. The festivities take place on Saturday, June 3rd at the Shoemakersville Park.
Parade registration is at 8th and Park Streets starting at 10:00 am, or register in advance by emailing recboard@shoeyboro.org.
The 0.7 mile parade route is shorter than in the past to encourage younger participants and will end in the park. The Fair starts when the parade is over and features food, entertainment and vintage games such as dimes pitch, ring toss and bean bag toss. The always popular raffle winner announcements close out the day at approximately 3:00 pm.
All proceeds benefit the Shoemakersville Recreation Board which sponsors the annual Summer Park Program, Trunk or Treat and many other community events. Anyone interested in sponsoring or volunteering can reach out to the Shoemakersville Borough Office at 610-562-8030.
