Police in South Heidelberg Township Police will soon be wearing body cameras thanks to a donation of $15,126 by the Berks County District Attorney, John Adams.
The formal check presentation was made Tuesday, September 21, at the Township’s morning workshop meeting. Accepting the donation from the District Attorney was South Heidelberg Township Corporal Hook and South Heidelberg Township Chairman Thomas Byrne.
“The body worn cameras will not only enhance the safety of the Officers, but also help criminal investigations with video recording as an impartial eyewitness to police contacts” noted the department in a statement.
