Reading United A.C. announce Amy Hough as Reading’s WPSL Asst. Women’s Coach

Reading United A.C. Has announced Amy Hough as the Women’s WPSL Asst. Coach for the 2024 Season. Coach Hough joins Reading United AC from Elizabethtown College where she is the Head Coach of the women’s soccer team (2016-present). In her tenure at Etown, she has coached the Blue Jays to four, Landmark Conference playoff appearances, including the program’s first ever Landmark Championship game in 2021. She has developed 22 all-conference players, 4 United Soccer Coaches All-Region honorees, and 1 United Soccer Coaches All-American. Coach Hough and her staff were named the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2019.

“Amy is going to be a real asset to Reading United,” said Thomas “Goose” Goselin, Head Coach of the women’s WPSL team. “Amy brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game to the team. I am excited to welcome Coach Hough and am confident that she will make an immediate impact on the success of the team.”

Prior to Etown, Couch Hough was a NCAA DI Coach for seven seasons, spending time as an assistant coach at both Lehigh University (2011-2016) and La Salle University (2009-2011). Coach Hough’s professional experience includes being the assistant coach with the inaugural season of the Philadelphia Independence (2010), a women’s professional team that participated in the The Women’s Professional Soccer League, which unfortunately folded in 2012.

“I am honored to join the coaching staff of Reading United’s WPSL team.” Coach Hough added, “I look forward to working alongside Goose and adding into the Reading United women’s team as we build on last season’s achievements.”

At the youth level, Coach Hough spent time with Lehigh Valley United from 2013-2016 as well as assisting with Todd Hoffard’s 1on1 Goalkeeping camps.

As a student-athlete, Coach Hough was an all-conference goalkeeper at La Salle University (NCAA DI, Atlantic 10 Conference), where she graduated from in 2009. During the summers, she played in the WPSL for the Philadelphia Pirates (2006) / Liberty (2007-2008).
