State Police in Reading to hold child car seat checks next week

The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L, Reading station, will be conducting free child seat safety checks next week in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Click it or Ticket campaign.

Car seat checks will be held Monday May 15, 2023 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Tuesday May 16, 2023 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM. No appointment is necessary.

Trained Child Seat Passenger Safety Technicians will be at the location to check child seats and booster seats to ensure that they are safely installed. Children up to 4 years of age are required to be in a properly secured Child Passenger Restraint System.

Children ages 4 to 8 years old are required to be properly secured in a Child Booster Seat. All drivers, front seat passengers and passengers under the age of 18 years are required to be properly secured in Safety Seat Belt System when in a passenger vehicle.

State Police ask those who attend to bring the car seat instructions & the vehicle manual.
