The Boyertown Community Library will host it’s annual summer reading program, Summer Quest, from June 7 until July 31. With the help of an online program called Beanstack, Summer Quest offers kids and teens tons of ways to stay active in mind and body all summer long. Summer Quest features a new theme each year. This year’s theme is Tails and Tales.
Beanstack is a user-friendly online platform to record activities, events, and reading achievements. To participate in the 2021 Summer Quest program and be eligible to win prizes, individuals must register with Beanstack and log their reading at https://berkslibraries.beanstack.org/reader365.
Reading achievements can also be logged by downloading the Beanstack Tracker from a mobile device’s app store. Children and teens will earn digital badges and prizes as their logged reading increases.
In addition to the reading program, BCL will host free, fun events that will keep participants engaged and learning from June until the end of July.
This summer’s events include an adult book and craft club, several adult painting classes, a StoryWalk at Boyertown Community Park, Makin’ Music with Michael Kropp at Boyertown Community Park, Therapy Dog Team Karen & Maggie at Boyertown Community Park, and Furry Tales and Tails: Yocum Institute Teen Theater Ensemble at Boyertown State Theatre.
Along with in-person events, BCL will offer several take-home activities, including Tales to Go: Take and Make Kits and Teen/Tween Book Drops.
